Exclusive Interview Wiv Kiss de Rapper (PART 1)

This is an exclusive interview wiv the Upcoming and highly promising star by de name Kiss, who's out wiv a HOT Nu single titled "Figure 8" dat is making round in clubs now and she had dis much to say....

Interview done by Jo'Bee.

May we get to know de real Kisss, Origin, where you were born and brought and when you started music professionally?

My names are Akindele Justina Omowunmi, born and brought up in Lagos and I'm from Okiti-Pupa in Ondo state precisely. I'm a rap artiste, I rap and I sing, a songwriter and a performer. i do hiphop and dance-hall. I started music like 2 years ago (paused and Laughed). But right from time I liked to sing. I joined the redeemed choir when I was 5 years old, I was a redeemer, well I'm still a Redeemer anyway. I started composing then but ma compositions were mostly rubbish BUT i met the right kinda people 2years ago. So you can say I started professionally 2years ago.

Musical Influences matter a lot. It's either yo were influenced by Classic artistes or de music trend in existence. Which of dis two has influenced your style of Music?

My music influence depends on ma environment. Well de kinda songs dat I do depends on how am feeling at dat moment, de people around mii or maybe something av heard before and I like it and i wanna play around wiv it. So... De kinda artistes dat inspire mii are de likes of Da'grin... shey you know am a Yoruba Rapper now (smiles outloud), Olamide too,  i like wizkid, Wande Coal and for international artistes, I listen to T-Pain... many of dem like dat. What inspires mii most is a good beat, people around mii and most of all GOD now.... smiles

Talking about Da'grin being an influence to your music and style. Did you ever get de opportunity to have met him in Person?

Wish I had met him when he was alive but I never did but i spoke to him on fone, dat was one. Working on his legacy n de kind person he was and mii speaking to him on fone....paused, his level of humility really blew ma mind. He was so humble and calm,  he even gave mii one rhyme like dat...(Laughed)while we spoke on fone. Da'grin was one artiste, may his soul rest in peace dat really really influenced rap, infact ma music as a whole. De first time i heard Da'Grin, I was like ""Yoruba Rap", I wanted to try it out and he himself encouraged mii to do better.

If you were to choose between Casual wears and exotic clothings which would you rather wear?

Well i am not de dress to kill kinda person. i like casual wears,(clears throat) I like wearing a tee-shirt, u know and it's not like I dnt wear gown or exotic gown, atleast just a gown so 'i wont av to start drawing it all de time cos I get lazy cos I think of de stress "before I wear it and before I take it off", I just look for one short gown and.....

Stick around for the concluding part of the interview. Just check this space and We'll surely give you de full gist of de birth of a Female Lyricist dat is about to change the face of Nigerian Music.
